Holding a camera still is hard – it took us 5 hours to get this shot… no joke!

It’s a very nice shot, so those 5 hours were worth it
You could say that – maybe wouldnt agree after 4.30 hours and am soaking wet from splash backs but yes i spose it was
Joe’s suggestions may have some benefit. I found that the shoulder technique seemed to help some but I suspect that a) it helps to have a ‘tall’ camera with a motor drive or battery grip (or shorter neck?), and b) a little extra meat on your bones might help a bit too. It seemed to help maybe just slightly more than pressing elbows to my sides/ribs–elbows up was noticeably worse. Leaning my shoulder against something (like a tree or wall) while shooting also had a similar benefit.
