That was very thorough. It got me thinking of the many times that I overloaded myself.

Dan,

Your predicament is both funny and sad all at once. Maybe the studio could contact you whenever they have a foreign wedding to shoot, how about that?

Great articles, very well written and informative. I'd love to try wedding photography and kind of have the chance, I have a photography studio a few doors down from my house who actually shot my wedding and they know I like photography too. I want to ask if I could tag along but there's a slight problem. One, I live in Japan and my Japanese isn't great and they don't speak English. Also, bringing a foreigner to a wedding would just freak out the wedding party and lose the studio future business!

Quact, I should rephrase that. You are correct in that old cards can still be used and I carry them with me as backups if I need them. There's no reason to throw them out of course.

My point is that with the low cost of good cards these days. It's advisable to start each year with a fresh set to try and avoid failures from happening.

Is there a reason for actually replacing memory cards rather than simply adding more and more to those you use? Do cards fail permanently or are you wanting faster cards?

Peter

This is an incredible post and most prudently written. Shooting wedding is not easy and a lot of people tend to think that expensive lenses will do the trick.

As you have mentioned, the rainy day will render the photography extremely difficult where autofocus accuracy and speed as well as weather sealing are crucial factors to the shooting.
