Great pictures and story. I used to work in GCT (aka "The House"). I knew that building better than most people know there homes. I knew every shortcut. All of the sidewalk access points. Did you ever see the 43rd street trucking subway? It was known as Burma road. It traversed east to west under the lower level and was where the porters used to transport baggage. There is also a hallway to the old New York Central building at 230 Park Ave...now Helmsley Palace. Then there is the Vanderbilt apartment which was the MN PD when I was there.
Interesting stuff. Thanks.

You stated that "The CIA, however, was aware of the ploy..." However, it was the FBI. The CIA did not come into existence until 1947. Even so, it's a great article.

What an amazing article and awesome pictures.

I'm trying to get in contact with Sean but I can't find an email address anywhere. I will be taking my first ever trip to New York City this March and I wanted to see who he spoke with to get a tour of M42 & the station under the Waldorf Astoria. If anyone has a way of getting me in contact with him or any information that could be useful I would greatly appreciate it. You can email me at stepdev@cox.net

Thanks,
Stephen D

I commute to GCT every day but have very few photographs to show for it. Great to see it in more depth from the tourist perspective.
