Stages of a Photographer’s Life as a Graph

by Miserere

My friend Doug alerted me to this amusing graph describing the evolution of a photographer’s “life”. As with all good humour, it’s funny because there is some truth in there. Click for full size view.

Found on DataViz.

Do you know what stage you are at? I’m definitely near Death…ha ha ha :-D

PS: If anyone knows who it was that came up with this graph, please let me know.

  1. True and hilarious as you say!

  2. Yes I confess, I started taking photos of pretty flowers and pretty cats – mostly because that is what I had :)

Im not a fan of HDR so Im going to skip that bit LOL

  3. I know I suck but I don’t know whether it’s the first or second blue dip.

  4. Oh man….I’m just clawing my way out of the “HDR hole”.

  5. The graph originated here: http://boards.4chan.org/p/. A photography chan image board well known for its harsh, honest and often unnecessary criticism. Most first time posters leave with tattered pride and never return. Hence the /p/ notation on the graph. Original credit goes to one of our regular posters by the name of !project.

    • Thanks for that bit of info. It would be great if you could direct !project. to this post and ask him/her to contact me so I can give proper credit.

      • people on 4chan dont really care about credits, if the tripfag does, he would had put copyright information on the image itself. profits, copyrights, watermarks and other nonsense is the cancer that is killing photography.

  6. Brilliant. Just when you finally get the hang of it, you’re six feet under. Life is a bitch!
