Nikon D800/D800E Tech Manual Download and D700 News
by Peter Zack
If you want to get a copy of the just-released technical manual, It’s available for download here. It reads more like a ‘quick start guide’ than a true technical manual. It’s a teaser to get you a bit more interested in the new body.
If you are interested in the new camera and are considering a pre-order. We’d appreciate the support of our site if you use the following links. Amazon.com and B&H.
There are some interesting notes in there. Things such as stopping a lens down too far will cause diffraction. We have indeed reached the point where the sensor can out resolve the lens.
Amateur Photographer has an interview with Nikon’s general manager for marketing, Nobuaki Sasagaki, where he is quoted as saying:
the Nikon D700 will not be discontinued as long as there is demand for the product.
Officially, the D800 has not replaced the D700 in Nikon’s range of DSLRs, and Sasagaki said that, so long as there is demand for the D700, Nikon will continue to produce the bodies.
Cheers and good shooting
